Carys is currently involved in a funded project exploring whether brain stimulation can elevate mood in older adults using the technique transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS).

Previously she completed a PhD at Northumbria University examining changes in the perception and use of everyday objects after stroke. Alongside work with patients, Carys assessed the effect of brain stimulation on the perception of object-use.
